\r\n\t\tThe Rosberg family strengthens vulnerable girls\r\n\t<\/h2>

\r\n\t\tThe Rosbergs have four daughters and are passionate about supporting vulnerable girls. They wanted to involve the entire family with efforts both at home and in a country further away, where conditions are worse and opportunities sparse. Based on Social Initiative\u2019s search, assessment and recommendations, the family chose to support Tjejzonen in Sweden and WISER Girls\u2019 School in Kenya.\r\n\t<\/p><\/div>\r\n\t

A personal effort<\/h3>\n

After training with Tjejzonen, Ina Rosberg contributed with her time and engagement in the Tjejzonen chat. During a couple of hours once a week, she would chat with young girls from all over Sweden. Being able to talk about their feelings and problems and receive advice on how to handle negative thoughts often makes a big difference for the girls.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means a lot to me to be able to contribute by chatting to girls who are not feeling well\u201d, says Ina.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A family visit to the school<\/h3>\n

Together with one of their daughters, the Rosberg family visited the WISER School, located in a small fishing village in rural western Kenya. Their daughter took part in lessons, and the parents were impressed by the high level of knowledge among the students. Both students and teachers at the school gained new perspectives and thought it was fascinating to meet the Swedish student.[\/vc_column_text]\r\n\t

More than just giving<\/h3>\n

The Rosbergs consider their philanthropic involvement just as important as their other investments \u2013 philanthropy is more than just giving.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven my background in the investment sector, it felt natural for us to approach our giving in a strategic and results-oriented way. Social Initiative helped us search and select two good organisations in order to strengthen vulnerable girls both at home and in Africa\u201d says Ulf Rosberg.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t<\/i>\r\n\t\t<\/span> Through Social Initiative, the Rosbergs get to see what kind of impact their support has; \u201cBesides the fact that we know how many girls attend the school and get to hear some of their stories, we also know that 55% of the graduating class last year achieved grades which qualify to university. When comparing that to the national average of 18%, we really see that our support makes a difference!\u201d<\/span><\/span>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″]

\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t<\/i>\r\n\t\t<\/span> As an integral part of the family\u2019s support to Tjejzonen, Social Initiative has developed a system for more efficient and accurate ways of measuring the impact of the organisation\u2019s work. Tjejzonen and Social Initiative have shared their knowledge and experience from the work with other non-profit organisations, through Giva Sweden, among others. \r\n\t\tCarnegies st\u00f6d och Social Initiatives aktiva arbete har lett till stor samh\u00e4llseffekt. P\u00e5 URDT Girls School i Uganda g\u00e5r alla elever vidare till gymnasiet, j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med 60% nationellt.<\/span>\r\n\t<\/p><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″]

\r\n\t\tP\u00e5 Door Step School i Mumbai \u00f6kar andelen barn som kan l\u00e4sa fr\u00e5n i snitt 35% till 85% under ett skol\u00e5r. Med hj\u00e4lp av Carnegies st\u00f6d satte vi upp det f\u00f6rsta datorcentret mitt i slummen. Det tog bara tre m\u00e5nader innan det stod f\u00e4rdigt och barnen i slummen f\u00f6r f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen kunde l\u00e4ra sig hur man hanterar en dator.<\/span>\r\n\t<\/p><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\r\n\t
